Terms of Service
Effective date: August 18, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of free-pi, including the free-pi-cli command-line interface, related websites, advertising features, and any related services (collectively, the “Service”). The Service is operated by DappHero Corp (“free-pi,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).
By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
free-pi provides an ad-supported distribution of an AI coding agent. The Service may send your prompts and permitted context to an AI model provider and return model-generated responses.
The Service is free to users, subject to usage limits, daily allowances, availability, abuse controls, and these Terms. We may revise the supported models, capabilities, limits, interface, or provider arrangements.
The Service may produce inaccurate, incomplete, insecure, or inappropriate responses. You are responsible for reviewing, testing, and deciding whether to use any response, code, command, or recommendation.
2. The Free, Ad-Supported Bargain
The Service is free because advertising helps fund inference and operations.
Ads may appear as terminal banners, inline cards, or other clearly labeled placements in the terminal interface. Our technical and contractual promise is:
Ad content never enters the model’s context.
In other words, advertisements are rendered for you in the terminal interface and are not included in the prompts, context, or other inputs we send to the model.
You may not use technical measures to remove, conceal, disable, block, manipulate, or bypass the advertising, usage controls, or terminal harness in order to obtain inference or other Service benefits outside the intended experience.
3. Account and GitHub Authentication
Some features require authentication through GitHub’s OAuth device flow. You must provide accurate information and keep your account credentials secure.
We may collect and store your GitHub identifier, GitHub handle, and GitHub account creation date as described in our Privacy Policy. You may not share your account, allow others to use it, create accounts to evade limits, or otherwise attempt to obtain multiple allowances improperly.
You are responsible for activity occurring through your account. Notify us promptly at legal@freepi.ai if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Your Content and Your Responsibilities
“Content” means prompts, source code, files, context, inputs, messages, and other material you provide to or that the Service reads or receives in connection with your use.
You retain any ownership rights you have in your Content. However, you represent and warrant that you have all rights, permissions, and authority necessary to submit Content to the Service and to grant the license below.
You must not submit Content that you are prohibited from sharing, including another person’s confidential information, trade secrets, credentials, protected personal information, or content subject to contractual or legal restrictions.
Because coding sessions can include source code and secrets, you should take reasonable care when selecting files, directories, and context for the Service. Our Privacy Policy describes our handling of traces and security practices, but you should not use the Service for information you are not authorized to disclose.
5. License You Grant to free-pi
You own your outputs. You retain ownership of your Content and of the code, text, and other outputs generated for you through the Service. The license below is a permission to operate the Service, not a transfer of ownership.
To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service, you grant free-pi a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, analyze, and display your Content and the resulting session traces as reasonably necessary to provide the Service. This license is sublicensable only to the service providers we engage to deliver the Service (for example, our model, infrastructure, and analytics providers), and only for that purpose.
Training. We do not currently use your Content or session traces to train AI models. If that changes, we will update these Terms and our Privacy Policy and provide any notice required by applicable law before using Content or traces for that purpose. We may offer a paid no-training option in the future. See our Privacy Policy (§6) for how we handle session traces and any rights that apply in your region.
We will not claim ownership of your Content. We will use Content only as described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy, subject to applicable law and any rights you have, including your opt-out and deletion rights.
6. Sponsored Suggestions
We may in the future present a product or service suggestion for which an advertiser has paid for placement.
Any such suggestion will be clearly labeled as sponsored or advertised, will be distinguishable from ordinary model content, and will be optional. You may decline, dismiss, or ignore it. We will not require you to purchase, install, or use an advertised product or service to continue using the Service.
We will not permit sponsored suggestions to be presented in a deceptive way or as an undisclosed independent recommendation. Advertisers do not receive permission to access your prompts, model context, or session content merely because their content is shown to you.
7. Acceptable Use
You may use the Service only in compliance with these Terms and applicable law.
You may not, and may not help others to:
- use the Service for illegal, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful activity;
- submit content you lack permission to disclose;
- attempt to bypass, disable, remove, block, manipulate, or circumvent the terminal harness, ads, authentication, usage limits, billing controls, or abuse protections;
- access or consume model inference directly through an unauthorized API, proxy, reverse-engineered endpoint, or other unsupported method;
- resell, distribute, sublicense, lease, provide, or commercially exploit access to the Service or its allowance;
- share account credentials or allow another person to use your account;
- create or use multiple accounts to evade caps or restrictions;
- use bots, scripts, scraping, or automated systems to abuse the Service or consume disproportionate resources;
- probe, scan, attack, interfere with, or compromise the Service, its providers, or another user’s account;
- infringe intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality, or other rights; or
- use the Service to create, facilitate, or disseminate malicious code, harmful attacks, or content prohibited by applicable law.
We may investigate violations and may suspend or terminate access, reduce allowances, delete affected content where appropriate, and cooperate with lawful requests.
8. Our Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, interface, branding, advertisements, documentation, and content we provide, is protected by intellectual-property laws and is owned by or licensed to free-pi and its licensors.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use the Service for its intended purpose.
“free-pi” and related marks are subject to applicable trademark rights. Nothing in these Terms grants permission to use our marks except as expressly permitted.
9. Third-Party Services
The Service may rely on third-party providers, including GitHub for authentication, OpenRouter and other model providers for inference, analytics providers, and advertising providers. Their services may be subject to separate terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for third-party services, their content, or their availability. Our Privacy Policy describes categories of providers and our data practices.
10. No Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FREE-PI DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, SECURITY, AND CONTINUOUS OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.
We do not warrant that model responses are correct, secure, original, non-infringing, or suitable for any particular use. You must independently review and test all outputs before relying on them.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FREE-PI, ITS OWNER, PROVIDERS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED US$10. (The Service is free; you pay us nothing to use it.)
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so these limitations apply only to the extent permitted by law.
12. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless free-pi, its owner, providers, and licensors from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your Content, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
13. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time.
We may suspend or terminate access immediately if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created security or legal risk, abused the Service, or if doing so is necessary to protect users, providers, or the Service.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive—including the license, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute provisions—will survive.
14. Changes to the Service and Terms
We may change the Service or these Terms. For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice by updating the effective date, displaying a notice in the Service, or using another reasonable method.
If you continue using the Service after the updated Terms become effective, you agree to the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, excluding its conflict-of-law rules.
Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, not in court, except that either party may bring a qualifying claim in small-claims court. You and free-pi each waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action.
16. General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the entire agreement between you and free-pi regarding the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent. We may transfer our rights and obligations in connection with a merger, sale, reorganization, or transfer of assets.
